Name:  Keyana Jones (formerly Tingley)  Current role: Paraeducator at Maple Grove Primary  Favorite thing about BGPS: Getting to work alongside the staff I once had as my teachers, principals and coaches and admired and looked up to as a student.

Name:  MacKenzie Harris  Current role:  Kindergarten teacher at  Glenwood Heights Primary  Favorite thing about BGPS: I love the sense of community in our district -- the way our schools, families and staff come together to support our students and one another.

Name:  Marina Heinz (formerly Schwartz)  Current role:  Fourth grade teacher at  Pleasant Valley Primary  Favorite memory: Having the opportunity to teach with my mom for 10 years at Amboy Middle School is an experience I'll never forget. We still talk about the morning on our drive to school together when a bald eagle flew down on the road in front of us. Now I get to see two bald eagles nearly every day  at PVP!

Name:  Rachel Karlsen (formerly Mattila)  Current role:  Elementary teacher at Battle Ground Virtual Academy  Favorite thing about BGPS: I like that the district is big enough that I feel anonymous and just one of many great teachers working with our amazing kids. And yet I know almost everyone who works at the district level and at least a few people from each school.  I like that many of us work most or all of our entire career in BG schools.  We are a blessing to our community.

Battle Ground Virtual Academy graduates have demonstrated incredible self-discipline and focus. 🎯 Each student has a unique story and has navigated their own personal journey to reach the finish line. Out of 100 graduates, 19 received the Seal of Biliteracy, a phenomenal achievement. We are so proud of you! Congratulations, BGVA class of 2026! 🎓

The climb was challenging, but the view from the top is worth it. 🏔️🎓 At Summit View High School, each grad plants a flag as they cross the stage to symbolize that they have reached the summit of their education to date. Each student took a unique path to get to last night's graduation, but together they represent a commitment to learning and preparing for careers, college, apprenticeships and life. As the Battle Ground High School class of 2026 celebrated last night, they stepped into a future filled with new opportunities and dreams that are ready to be pursued. The ceremony may be over, but the impact these graduates will have on our community and beyond is just beginning. Whether their next step is a job, military service, training program, college or something entirely their own, we know they will carry the spirit of Battle Ground with them. Congratulations, Tigers!
