Activity fee
Students who participate in middle school sports pay a one-time $40 fee per sport that cover some program costs such as transportation between games and officials. Find out if your family qualifies for waived activity fees.
All fines and current fees must be paid before the first contest in order for the student to be able to participate. If fees are a burden to your family, please contact your school’s main office.

History of middle school sports
Middle school sports returned to Battle Ground schools in 2021-22 after a 40-year absence. Following a double levy failure in 1982, middle school sports were cut due to budget reductions. The Battle Ground Public Schools board of directors worked to bring back middle school sports in response to requests from parents and community members.
Details
Participation is open to all students in grades 6-8. Soccer will expand in the 2023-24 school year to also include grade 6 students.
Most sports are no-cut. In cases where students might be cut, no fee will be charged until teams are finalized.
Prior to the first practice, students must have a completed sports physical and be registered on Family ID.
Practices and games will be held after middle schools release at 2:40 p.m.
Participating students must maintain academic eligibility per district requirements.
Students attending our ALE schools (River HomeLink , Battle Ground Virtual Academy, CAM Academy) can participate in sports at their neighborhood middle school, and must live within the boundaries of the school.
