Career and Technical Education in BGPS
Career and technical education classes prepare students to enter the workforce after they graduate and/or enter a training program or college. Battle Ground has one of the most robust career/technical education programs in the state. Once called vocational education, today's CTE still includes skilled trades, but also offers more than 120 classes under six different pathways.
Ninety-nine percent of BGPS students take at least one CTE class in high school
Taking classes in the agricultural department gave me the opportunity to learn about my career of choice. I grew up on a family farm in Amboy, which showed me the importance of local food production, then high school agriculture classes taught me the specifics of that business.
