Financial literacy

Battle Ground students will participate in several lessons about financial literacy to develop essential skills that will benefit them now and in the future.

Timeline:

  • Some teachers have access to the materials in spring of 2026, however 4th and 7th graders will receive the financial literacy beginning in the 2026-27 school year

Due to budget cuts, the district could only support financial literacy education for 4th and 7th grades. Please read the parent letters to learn more about what we will study and how to support your child.

Next Gen Personal Finance's 9-Week course will help 7th grade students build core personal finance skills and learn real-world strategies to effectively manage their personal finances. Topics include decision making, budgeting, saving, consumer skills, preparing for high school and more.
