Special meeting/work session

The special meeting/work session began at 4:30 p.m. with a presentation by representatives from the city of Battle Ground on its NW 5th Street project.

Regular meeting

The regular meeting began at 6 p.m. and included:

• Agenda approval

• Student voice from Summit View High School, Battle Ground Virtual Academy, River HomeLink and Prairie High School.

  • Elizabeth McAleer, a Battle Ground High School senior who won the Battle Ground High School and Regional Poetry Out Loud competitions, recited two poems.

• The Battle Ground Education Foundation presented the district with a check for $25,000 donated by the Battle Ground Rose Float Corporation. The funds will benefit the district's Family and Community Resource Center and the Battle Ground High School marching band.

• Committee and board director reports

• Superintendent and staff updates

• Citizens’ comments

• Approval of the consent agenda, including the retirement of Superintendent Denny Waters

• No old or new business

• Future agenda items and board events

• Executive session: The board entered an executive session at 7:50 p.m. The executive session ended around 9:05 p.m. with no action.
