Voters last approved a bond measure for Battle Ground Public Schools in 2005 at a rate of $1.26 per $1,000. Today, the current bond rate is $0.44 per $1,000 of assessed property value. This is the lowest rate of all K-12 districts in Clark County.
The bond will be paid off on Dec. 31, 2023.
The 2005 bond paid for the following projects:
Daybreak primary and middle schools
Tukes Valley primary and middle schools
Chief Umtuch Middle School
Amboy Middle School
Captain Strong Primary classroom expansion
Technology and safety upgrades
Laurin Middle School commons
Prairie High School refurbished track and auditorium and replaced roofs
Battle Ground High School stage/auditorium/cafeteria
In later years, BGPS asked voters to approve bonds in 2016 and 2018. Each time, the bond did not receive at least the 60% yes votes needed to pass.
November 2016: 55.43% yes votes | 44.57% no votes
February 2018: 58.68% yes votes | 41.32% no votes
April 2018: 53.87% yes votes | 46.13% no votes
