The DBM ASB would like to announce that Daybreak’s annual Food Drive has officially started! Every year, our middle school collects non-perishable items for the local food bank, so that our families have enough food during the holiday season. This year, the food drive will run Monday, December 2 – Tuesday, December 17.As usual, we will be collecting items that do not require refrigeration. Items that the food banks typically need are: healthy cereals and oatmeal; bags of potatoes or apples; kids’ snack items (juice boxes, individual applesauces, etc.); toilet paper; diapers and wipes; jars and pouches of baby food; dry pasta Jars of pasta sauce; canned fish and meat (salmon, tuna, ham, Spam, turkey, etc.—pop-top cans are best); canned vegetables and fruit; milk (canned or powdered); peanut butter, almond butter, or sun butter; canned beans, sliced bread, canned and dry soups and chilies, baking mixes that require only water, spices, and even toiletries like toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, deodorant, lip balm.To encourage students to participate, there will be a competition between homerooms, and the three classes with the most donation points win a Smart Snack snack pack grab bag! Every item gets a point (large items get 2 or 3 points), and the item of the day gets double points! The items of the day are listed below, in case your student hopes to earn extra points with their donation.ASB is grateful that our school is able to bless so many families in Battle Ground every year, and thanks you, in advance, for your generosity. We really couldn’t serve our community without our families help. Thank you for helping us as we help Battle Ground.  Happy donating!Double Points Items of the Day:
