High School Course Guide imageHigh School Course Guide: Forecasting starts soon!

It is that time of year when our high school students review the options they have in high school and select the courses they would like to study the following year. Our online High School Course Guide will help your student with forecasting and planning for their high school years. The guide lists all the courses available at the district’s high schools, as well as graduation requirements, specialized programs, and dual credit opportunities. It is a great opportunity to discuss your child’s future goals.

February 2, 2021 (From PHS Counselor)

Hello Class of 2025, our Future Falcons!

It is time to start thinking about your freshman year of high school.  We will begin forecasting soon and want to share some important dates with you and your families.

On February 11th, please check the Prairie High School website  where you will see a FUTURE FALCONS, CLASS OF 2025 section.  Here you will find a slideshow that guides you through the forecasting process.   The Future Falcons Slideshow will also provide links to the parent/student webinar and upcoming Zoom meetings with counselors.

On the evening of February 11, there will be a student/family webinar for Future Falcons (current 8th graders) from 6:30-7:30 pm.  We will go through the forecasting process with you and answer any general questions you may have.  Here is the link to this webinar.

Forecasting for Prairie Future Falcons will be open from February 12 – February 26th.

On February 17, PHS counselors will hold open Zoom meetings to answer general questions that students or families may have on the forecasting process.  The Zoom will be open from 1-3pm and 6-8pm.  You can join at any point to get your questions answered.  Links will be shared in the Future Falcons slideshow on our website.

February 26 – Forecasting for freshman students will be completed.

In-district student transfer procedures Students who live in Battle Ground School District attend the school that serves their residential area, except for those students who have requested an in-district student transfer and whose transfer has been approved by the receiving school.

Parents can submit transfer requests starting Jan. 11 for the following school year. Here’s the process:

  • Request the in-district student transfer form from the school you want to attend and return it to the school you want to attend. When school buildings are closed, you can also access the form online here and return it via email to boundaries@battlegroundps.org.
  • The staff will record the date and time on the application form when it is received by the school and forward it for release to the resident school.
  • The resident principal will release the student and forward the form back to the principal at the requested school.
  • The principal at the requested school will accept the transfer or deny it and mark the reason for denial.
  • The requested school will send copies of the form to the appropriate persons or schools.

For 8th-grade students who want to attend a high school other than their resident high school, the process is:

  • Request the in-district student transfer form from the current middle school.
  • Return the completed form to the requested high school with the registration papers.
  • Staff will record the date and time on the application form when it is received by the school.
